A pangram uses all seven letters of the day's puzzle at least once. It nets you 7 bonus points on top of its length, and it's usually the biggest single find of the round.

Words need at least 4 letters and must always include the centre letter. A 4-letter word scores 1 point, longer words score their letter count, and a pangram earns a 7-point bonus.

You'll need roughly 60% of the maximum score. Long words and the pangram carry the most weight, so chase those once the easy finds run out.

The English puzzle uses the standard A-Z alphabet only. Each tile is one unique letter - no accents, no variants.

The word list is deliberately curated: it holds well-known common nouns in their singular form. Plurals, verbs and adjectives don't count ('cats' or 'harsh' won't be accepted), though nouns that double as verbs ('run', 'walk') do. Words that exist only in the plural, like 'scissors', are the exception - they're included.
