This page explains what data DailyWordGames.co.uk processes: game progress, optional problem reports, technical access data and Google services when you visit.
Data Collected
Hosting providers process technical access data, such as IP address, browser, requested URL and time, to deliver and secure the website. Technical log retention depends on the provider and its settings.
Optional problem reports and contact
If you send a problem report in a game, we store the message (up to 500 characters), submission time, game, language and platform, plus version, game and embedding-page URLs, puzzle number and date when available. Cloudflare adds the country derived from the connection and a shortened browser identifier (User-Agent). Reports are stored in Cloudflare D1 to investigate problems; daily cleanup deletes reports older than 365 days. IP addresses are used for rate limiting, but are not stored in report records. Common email patterns are removed from messages, which does not guarantee anonymity. Please do not include personal or sensitive information.
If you contact us by email, we process your email address and message to answer your enquiry. The email provider also processes this correspondence.
Cookies
Game progress and settings are saved in your browser (localStorage). Browser settings let you delete or block cookies and local storage; deleting local storage removes saved progress. Analytics and, where enabled, advertising also use cookies or other identifiers.
Google AdSense
This language version does not use Google AdSense advertising.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and game interactions. Google processes cookies and browser identifiers, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from IP addresses. To block Analytics, Google offers an opt-out add-on for supported desktop browsers; browser tools can also block scripts or cookies.
